The past few days have been an extraordinary experience. I had the previledge to be on the Selection Committee for AI Director 2008-2009 Selection. What an experience! Being locked up in a room with another 9 people from different countries and backgrounds, interviewing 17 candidates back to back over the two days with the occassional toilet and meal breaks in between. Surely by the end of it we are good friends!

Funnily enough, the last two days have made me thinking and reflecting about my own experiences in the past few years. What does those experiences mean to me? Who am I as a result of those experiences? The action and reaction that I took, what do they say about me? What are the things that I value the most? Too many questions that I never thought I had the time to reflect and think about unless I'm taking a break. (see here)

On Day 1 we had a Panel Discussion with other leaders from youth development organisation as part of the PAI Special Event. One of the panelists said how we need more people like those who is involved in AIESEC or other voluntary organisation who focus on making the world a better place as at the moment, the world is full of individualists who thinks "All about me." I think AIESEC also full of that kind of people. Individualists. It's not necessarily a bad thing. It's just a reality and people can justify it anyway they wish.

During the Selection interview, seeing the passion that the candidates were transmitting during the interview, the extreme willingness to make a difference and to create a change for this organisation and for the world - It was inspiring!

I came to IPM with a mission of finding inspiration. I'm almost there.
