March 2003
It was the first time I met Sharon, shortly after I was recruited into AIESEC. She was MCP-e (I barely know AIESEC acronyms at that point of time) and she just got back from Estonia for IPM. It was weeks leading up to NZMS and she was down south with her then-boyfriend-now-husband Alan - one of the senior members in the LC.

Being so excited about conference I tried to make sure that everyone is coming. It was no exception to her (Despite of her telling us her cool experience at IPM), I asked if she would come to conference. (Like there is a chance an MC/MCPe dont go to conference?)

Yesterday, a reverse-role happened to me. As I said, "Yes, definitely. See you at conference." I remembered that day four years ago. It's funny how what goes around comes around. Hey, who knows if this girl will be the next MCP in 4 years time? ;)

What is up?
It has been a little quiet in the blogging side for the last few weeks. As probably most of you know that I have been elected as MCP for the next term. News spread fast. It is so empowering to hear congratulations from everyone who is in and outside of AIESEC, here and overseas, and a couple that I don't really know of (I will get to know them for sure!)

After election the MC girls went home (it was a virtual election - so no hoo-hah about big election night and definitely no drinking stories to tell). I thought we were just going to have a quiet celebration with a bottle of vodka and the four of us. I just got off the phone when I was about to enter the lounge. Alan, Sharon, Anna and Gilly - suddenly popped out of no where with one of those party poppers in their hands! A stream of guests coming through for the rest of the night bringing cakes and champagne. It was nice :)

It hasn't even begun yet- but I have started feeling the power of the network. First of all is the very warm welcome coming from the "AP family". Followed by the network of MCP 07/08 (The Elects!). We even have our own blog! I know we are on to something good.

Next highlight is the selection of my MC team. Next year the MC will consist of 2 girls and 3 guys. A very diverse team in terms of AIESEC experience and nationalities- bringing the world to New Zealand. We have a Polish, a Russian, an Indian, a Nigerian and a Kiwi (well okay, im an Indonesian, too - so making it more diverse :)

A steep learning curve in the past few weeks- and it hasnt even started! It's going to be a helluva ride :)

It Ends Tonight
Yes, I'm outside of the 'room'. Ipod on. It feels weird to have to wait for my own election - in the MC office. It still gives me the nerve-wrecking feeling. My heart beats a lot faster now. It didnt really kick in until like a couple of hours ago. Five more minutes to go - then the whole process will start... and ends in the next couple of hours.

Breathe in... breathe out... phew.

Tomorrow's The Night
Tomorrow is the big night. Weird enough, I have never been so calm and relaxed the night before 'THE' night. I think this time, I am mentally prepared. A lot of encouraging words being said and it really makes me at ease. Thanks, guys! :) The only thing that I have in mind is... going to bed and cathing up on my beauty sleep.

Regardless... good or bad... tomorrow is the twist of fate. This is the time to decide whether I should join the band of MCPs or the legion of AIESEC interns... both are equally exciting, interesting and challenging. Ooh, the possibilities! =)

For the LCPs that just got selected recently... congratulations! You have made an excellent decision. Won't regret it for a second! (Dont worry if you dont feel like this in the middle of your term. You will ... AFTER your term ends. ;)

Feeling Better...
Feeling a lot better now. Literally and... in not so literal way.

Did you know that I went to the Dentist the other day because I had a toothache. I hate going to the dentist. I couldnt believe that I had to do it myself. All I can remember whenever I go to the Dentist is the horrible smell and the thought of the pain alone makes me shiver :S.

Like I thought before it's far more serious than just a toothache. Treatment #1 is done - so it doesn't hurt as bad. The dentist ask if I had an accident at some point of time, but I couldnt recall any bad accident happened recently (apart from the time when I sprained my foot of course - but it's got nothing to do with the teeth!). After a while I suddenly remember .. it must be from playing indoor soccer the week before last! I remember clearly how the ball hit my cheek- it hurt but nothing major! IT MUST BE IT. I gotta ban playing indoor soccer from now on!

Right, in a not so literal way... I know some of my best friends who I have been telling 'stories' when I was back home is dead worried about my undecisiveness (let alone knowing my final decision!). I had big conversations in the span of seven days and it actually makes me feel a lot better now.

Life's good.

=)
