events

What's up in the past few weeks? Lots. Some of them are captured in the picture collage above.

Ozge's Flatwarming Party - Oz and her flatmates thrown a flatwarming party. Heaps of people. Heaps of food (that can feed the MC for the whole week! ;p). Heaps of drinks. Undoubtedly, heaps of fun!

Liam's visit - Yup, he is back! I didn't realise that until he got to the flat. Talking about Alumni re-engagement, eh? :)

NZLTM - What can I say! Been there, done that last year but nthis year is even better! On the second day we threw a party for Nick and Simone (deJong) to celebrate their birthdays. See the brownies on the picture, I claim the credit for it (although cheers to the other Sim for beating the eggs and flour into the batter ;). Ha-ha! It was a full-on weekend I should say. Nevertheless it was fun. The LCPs really bring laughter and joy into the MC's flat. (Im not being sarcastic here, dead serious! :)

Team Drinks - Just the other day I decided to go for a dinner with the people from work as I have never participated with any of the team activities before (I'm an outcast - hehe, j/k). Getting to the agreed place bang on time apparently the friggin' place is full. After scouting another 3 places with no luck (or at least we had to wait for an hour if we want to get a table), Sim and I decided to get our own food before the rest come while the team insisted to go to Matterhorn.

On the way, both of us decided to "pop in to say hi". Our version of "Popping in to say hi" ended up with staying on for the next 4 hours and having a piss up with the team. Honestly, I was going to take it easy with a cup of mochachinno just enough to keep me alive afterwards to do some AIESEC work. At the end of the night, 2 Jagerbombs and one vodka/red-bull later I can barely close my eyes at 4.30 am. (Gee, I wonder why! ;p)

Ah yes, I hardly post anything intelligent on this blog, I know. Maybe next time when I decided to be wise and insightful again. But in the mean time, enjoy!

A triangle trying to squeeze through a circle . He tried to cut me so I'd fit

And doesn't that sound familiar? Doesn't that hit too close to home?
Doesn't that make you shiver; the way things could've gone?
And doesn't it feel peculiar when everyone wants a little more?
And so that I do remember to never go that far,
Could you leave me with a scar?

NZLTM 2006, Wellington: We certainly feel the love. Bloody LCPs, always complain :p !

TGI Friday!

Saturday, November 11, 2006

"Have a great weekend!" those were my last words to my colleagues before leaving work for meeting the MC girls today. Yes, thank god it's Friday! Friday has always been a special day. It is the "looking forward to the weekend" Day. Casual Friday. The guys at work were more relaxed than in other days. It seems like Friday is the "let's-throw-some-balls-around-and-pretend-we're-playing-cricket-or-some -other-type-of-sports." Day. Definitely a lot more procrastination happening.

After a chaoticly busy week,to me Friday is like a god-sent gift to buy me some time. An extra two days before the nightmare of deadlines starting again. Two days. Forty eight hours. It should be enough.

So little time, so much to do

There are times when you have a lot of time and nothing to do
There are a lot more times when you have so many things to do but not enough time

Today (and for the rest of the week..., and the week after) is the latter one. Nikita will be in hibernation for the next two weeks. Please bear with me.

It's right there.

Smack bang right in front of my face, something that I had been looking for.

But what do I do? - Nothing. Why? - I don't know, "Maybe it's just me."

*sigh* I have a feeling that in the near future there would be a lot of, 'Shoulda/Woulda/Coulda's

On The Road Again: Auckland

Thursday, November 02, 2006

I'm in Auckland already. My feeling about the whole trip is a lot nicer. Maybe because I didn't have to spend the whole 9 hours sitting on the bus and trying to get some sleep. The "adventure" started at 8 am with a drive from Hamilton. Thanks to Eric, I could do what I had to do for the good of the country. ;p Eric Liu, the country owes you heaps. Hahaha!

Anyhow, tonight I had the best meal ever in Auckland. No, it's not the roast duck on rice like usual (Although it is better and cheaper here in Auckland than in Wellington). I am staying over at Ladi-Cristiane-and-Mialy's flat. Tonight Cristiane cooked a delicious Beef Stroganof and Mialy made the salad. I feel so honoured because they don't do this very often. ("It's because you're special, Nikita.") :D i have promised them to cook some Indonesian the next time I come around - of course, because you guys are special too ;) (and more of Brazilian and Madagascarian food next time!).

Ah, still another day and a half to spend in Auckland before I see you all Wellingtonians at the Guy Fawkes fireworks display by the Harbour. Can't wait!

Cellphone: Check! (But my water bottle is gone - dammit!)
