Random Act of Kindness
When you carry out acts of kindness you get a wonderful feeling inside. It is as though something inside your body responds and says, yes, this is how I ought to feel. Nikita Wong. Wongy. Wongkie. Wongkitongkie. Ms. Wong. Nikita. Whatever name you know me by. This is my ranting and rambling on the memoirs of the olden days, the excitement of the present days, and the anticipation of the future. This is me, uncensored. |

White Men Can't Jump
I was lazying around watching TV on Sunday evening. By chance I came across the FIBA World Championship which is currently being held in Hiroshima, Japan. Just like football , I have not watched Basketball games in ages! For some weird reason, all my childhood memory came flooding back. Well.. maybe not so much of childhood, my teenage years that was. The times when the only sport I played was basketball, the times when I spared time to watch the final of NBA just before my exams! Aah.. the good old times..Anyways, this is not the point of the post. I have been watching the Tall Blacks performance in the last 3 games of the Championship- very disappointing indeed. Let's say that Basketball is not our strong point. I can see some good players that play well but the teamwork and skills are below the teams that they were playing against - Germany, Spain and Angola. We will see if New Zealand could score a victory against lightweight teams like Japan and Panama. So, is it true that white men can't jump? Maybe it's just the Kiwis. "Our best games are when we play like a team. It doesn't matter who's on the bench. Everybody can do a lot of positive things. And if needed it, Pau (Gasol) or me or Juan Carlos (Navarro) can win a game. But it's easier to win as a team." Calderon on the Spanish team's balance. Damn straight, you're right!
