It has been a little quiet in the blogging side for the last few weeks. As probably most of you know that I have been elected as MCP for the next term. News spread fast. It is so empowering to hear congratulations from everyone who is in and outside of AIESEC, here and overseas, and a couple that I don't really know of (I will get to know them for sure!)
After election the MC girls went home (it was a virtual election - so no hoo-hah about big election night and definitely no drinking stories to tell). I thought we were just going to have a quiet celebration with a bottle of vodka and the four of us. I just got off the phone when I was about to enter the lounge. Alan, Sharon, Anna and Gilly - suddenly popped out of no where with one of those party poppers in their hands! A stream of guests coming through for the rest of the night bringing cakes and champagne. It was nice :)
It hasn't even begun yet- but I have started feeling the power of the network. First of all is the very warm welcome coming from the "AP family". Followed by the network of MCP 07/08 (The Elects!). We even have our own blog! I know we are on to something good.
Next highlight is the selection of my MC team. Next year the MC will consist of 2 girls and 3 guys. A very diverse team in terms of AIESEC experience and nationalities- bringing the world to New Zealand. We have a Polish, a Russian, an Indian, a Nigerian and a Kiwi (well okay, im an Indonesian, too - so making it more diverse :)
A steep learning curve in the past few weeks- and it hasnt even started! It's going to be a helluva ride :)
