Random Act of Kindness
When you carry out acts of kindness you get a wonderful feeling inside. It is as though something inside your body responds and says, yes, this is how I ought to feel. Nikita Wong. Wongy. Wongkie. Wongkitongkie. Ms. Wong. Nikita. Whatever name you know me by. This is my ranting and rambling on the memoirs of the olden days, the excitement of the present days, and the anticipation of the future. This is me, uncensored. |

The World Cup is Here!
The FIFA World Cup 2006 is finally here! Even in a country like New Zealand, where you don't normally hear much about the beautiful game, the football matches are on all-day at the sports bar, on the news, on Channel One. I have never been exposed to this much football in New Zealand before.Although the hype is there but something feels missing. There just isn't enough atmosphere to be imersed in the whole fad. I don't have my Dad who would stay up til 3 AM just to watch the game. There are no friends who would be discussing in a heated debate about the game the day after. There is no sport tabloid that covers all the games, the scores, the teams, the players, who goes to what round, the prediction and everything else there is to know about the World Cup and each of its game. It has been 8 years (Yes it was FIFA World Cup 1998 in France) since the last time I feel that. You would think that I would grow out of it, wouldnt you? As I have lost touch with the football world, I might not be a huge football fan at all, I just miss the atmosphere of being surrounded by football fanatics. It is fun and believe me it is quite contagious, too! |
Oh My Goodness Nikita!
I am a die hard Chelsea fan! And when i got the email telling me i would be spending the next year and a half in Kiwiland, one of the first things i thought about was that i would have to stay up late every weekend to watch Chelsea play.
So are Premiership games screened live in NZ? So maybe i had better enjoy this world cup as much as i can? I come from a country where cricket is first and foremost an insect and Rugby is just not on!
Ah Well!
