The Irony in Life

Thursday, May 19, 2005

I wasn't going to write about how shit the day has been. Not only it was raining and was freezing cold all day long in Christchurch, but NOTHING goes right today. It all started when Ryan went into the office with this grin on his face asking, "When is Adi arriving?" Why is this making me upset, you say? Well, he doesn't supposed to know!

And was followed with Nick writing on the board with vivid a huge, "Pick up keg for Saturday" He ended up using his deodorant and hoping it would rub the writing off the board, before the smart Nikita pointed out that UCom actually has turpentine for that purpose. The whole room stunk of Nick's smell and turpentine. :S

The whole thing didn't stop there unfortunately. Later on the afternoon I went to a meeting where we're running late and I parked my car in the other side of the town and had to run my ass off to get to the meeting 5 minutes late.

The last but not least was when I was suppose to have another meeting afterwards. Getting there, again, one minute late. Standing outside te corporate's office in the cold because I need to meet the meeting setter and because I don't know who am I meeting with if I was going to get in and go for the meeting myself.

I wasn't going to tell the world all that but,....it's all said and done.

In the more lighter note, I read this article in CECC e-newsletter. Ohh, the irony!

From Third World to First World - The Irony

Life is full for little ironies. The one we have enjoyed recently, was as a
result of attending the Prime Minister of Vietnam's dinner held for him and
his many members of his entourage recently in Christchurch. During the
dinner we learned that the delegation had travelled to New Zealand in a
Boeing 767 charter flight. They were desirous of bringing Vietnam Air's new
Boeing 777 to Australia and New Zealand but were unable to do so as the
Boeing 777 could not land at Wellington airport because of runway length
restrictions. We think it is a wonderful irony that a third world country
cannot bring its desired charter plan to a first world country because the
runway at the capital city of that first world country is just too short!!
